저에게 세계는 거대한 퍼즐이고, 그림은 잃어버린 퍼즐을 찾고 맞춰가는 과정이자 세계와 소통하는 방식입니다. 세상의 모든 이야기는 퍼즐처럼

서로 맞물린다고 생각합니다.  

 

제가 찾고 싶은 퍼즐 조각은 수많은 이야기로부터 지워지고 소외된 여성들의 진짜 이야기 입니다. 주로 역사와 신화, 동화, 설화, 역사 사기로부터 영감을

얻으며, 다양한 각도에서 이야기를 조명하고 그림으로 구현하는 작업을 즐겨합니다.

 

빈 캔버스 위에 제가 상상한 여성들의 모습과 목소리를 표현하고, 관객들이 작품을 통해 그림 속 여성의 목소리에 귀 기울일 때 비로소 잃어버린 퍼즐이 다른 퍼즐과 맞춰지며 저 또한 세계와 강하게 연결됨을 느낍니다.

즉, 저에게 창작은 세계와 연결된 문입니다.

그리고 저는 문을 열고 새로운 세상으로 나아가는 순간들을 사랑하기에

그림을 그립니다. 언제 어디에서 무엇을 하던, 저는 평생 창작을 계속해 나가고 싶습니다.  

 

To my mind, Drawing is puzzling missing pieces of the world we belong. The World consists of a lot of puzzles and all of them are connected to each other. 

 

 For instance, Taking a different angle on the long-standing history of misogyny where most women have been objectified and distorted, erased is the first step for me to find those missing puzzles. Then I imagine and implement who those women really are on the canvas.   

 

Whenever the audiences start listening to these women's voices, I strongly feel the missing puzzles are finally put together to this world. I feel like that all existence in the world are linked to each other through Arts. Drawing is a door to new worlds and I want to keep opening the doors throughout a lifetime.
